This Village Fair is to commemorate 175 years of the Stoke Climsland Post Office and Stores! From the Penny Black to the current Elizabeth 2nd stamps, the Stoke Climsland Post Office has been there for all the community, and now the whole community is involved in planning a great day’s celebration on June 14th.
The Fair will be themed to reflect a Traditional Fair from 1839 up to the 1950s with coconut shies, horse shoes, fancy dress, children’s activities egg & spoon races, stilted period policemen, Punch and Judy,clowns, circus workshop and magicians. Maypole Dancing, local dancers & singers. Horse and cart rides, afternoon teas with delicious home-made cakes, rides, bouncy castle, displays by local organisations WI, Scouts, Scottish Dancing and Karate, Disabled Horse Riding group. Local Bands, Local Groups and Choirs. Clog Dancing demonstration and workshop with Shindig. The local History Group is coming up with a host of amazing archives and a Poetry Postie will add the final touch to a special day.
