Arts Lab is a creative wellbeing programme by and for young people in Cornwall, delivered by HeadStart Kernow, Creative Kernow and Arts Well.
The aim of this programme is to address the mental and emotional health needs of young people, with particular attention to the impact of the pandemic, and to connect them to their local communities, giving them visibility and an outlet for self-expression. We are using the Five Ways to Wellbeing as a foundation for the creative projects.
Over the past three years, we have commissioned artists to work with young people’s groups all over Cornwall to co-create opportunities in response to what the young people said they want. Watch the film and read the Impact Reports by clicking the buttons below.
Filmmaker opportunity
We are looking for a creative practitioner/s to capture a strand of Arts Lab that we are running with the council’s Resettlement Service. We are delivering projects that will use creativity to connect groups of young refugees and their peers to build empathy, shared understandings and celebrate difference. The majority of this work is taking place in schools. We would like to work with a creative to capture this work through film. Download the brief here.
The deadline to apply is 10am, Monday 3rd February.
