‘Home’ is a collaborative Arts lab project facilitated by Lois Jones, taking place in two settings: for young people accessing CN4C in Redruth and for students at St Day and Carharrack Community School. The project aims to support young people to think about the value of art and its intrinsic benefits through the processes of creativity as a tool for wellbeing, producing a final piece to empower their voices and that they will share with others.
The project is exploring the word ‘home’ as noun, adjective, and adverb, juxtaposing ideas of rural ideal and of what we see presented in art by exploring our lived experiences and what home means to us in its wider context: community, family, identity, meaning.
Young people will explore clay, glazes, and slip techniques, scaffolding skills through mini makes, working towards a communitive final project which will be showcased at a pop-up exhibition in Camborne Contemporary Craft Hub in the summer.
