This is a twice-weekly arts and handicrafts club for older people living at Miners Court and in and around Redruth. The club offers creative opportunities for participants living with on-going health issues and / or disabilities. It was conceived and is run by the residents association and is having a proven direct impact on the health and well-being of participants.
Reviving skills promotes participants well being, for example when eye sight rapidly deteriorates.
‘As a result of doing the activities here I have seen a positive change, my specialist doctors think it’s a direct influence from happy crafters.’ It also provides a meeting space and encourages sociability.
‘I have been enjoying knitting and getting to know other people as well as getting out of my flat.’
