Greenlungs: The Breathing Telephone transforms plant data into sound, using biosonification to create a shared sensory language beyond words and borders led by artist Justin Wiggans. Developed with young refugees and their peers, the project weaves personal memories of nature: gardens, plants, and landscapes, into a collective sound and poetry installation.
At its centre, a telephone invites visitors to listen to these layered voices, symbolising connection, empathy, and dialogue. Rooted in Cornwall, the work reflects on belonging and collaboration, reminding us that like plants in an ecosystem we thrive when we listen and grow together.
