Amanda Lorens and Tony Minnion have been having fun working with students at Redruth School after school art club using stop motion animation to create fantastical, funny, surreal self-portraits!
Inspired by a mixture of Monty Python humour and Surrealist imaginings animated self portraits are being created that change, warp and transform with laugh out loud results. The young people have had a lot of fun working together and helping each other film. The students are encouraged to be imaginative, creative and express themselves by using the magic of stop motion animation to bring their artwork to life. The animations will be made into a show-reel and screened as part of a key stage three celebration assembly and a KS3 presentation evening. As well as being shown on the school Facebook page, each student will have a copy of their own animated portrait to share and keep on their phones to show their friends and family.
