Young people from the Hear Our Voice project are passionate about raising awareness of mental health, and we are excited to be making three films; the first, ‘Fight, Flight and Freeze’, will be for young people to learn about the body’s response to stress and anxiety. The film can be used in workshops and sessions with young people for them to better understand their body, and gain some ideas on how to positively respond to the body’s reaction. We are also hoping to give parents and school staff some helpful tips on how to support young people – these films can be used in our parent awareness workshops and professional training sessions.
Our second film, ‘Dear Parents’ will focus on what parents and carers can do to support the mental health and emotional well being of their children, and thirdly, ‘Ten Top Tips for Schools’ can offer some clear and simple examples of how schools can make things a little easier for those pupils who are experiencing anxiety or emotional distress.
Hear Our Voice supports young people aged 11-19 who are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
