KOMPAS is a new arts and LGBTQ+ history project by Queer Kernow in partnership with DECODER and lead artist SHARP, that connects Cornwall’s rich and diverse LGBTQ+ history with newly commissioned site-specific artworks by LGBTQ+ artists and a new interactive online map. KOMPAS is named after an old Cornish word for “compass,” KOMPAS aims to connect different geographic areas of Cornwall and offers innovative ways to explore, connect and understand its LGBTQ+ history. The first phase of KOMPAS focuses on specific histories in Bodmin, North Cornwall, and West Penwith, working in partnership with intoBodmin and Kresen Kernow to connect our research with community events and workshops.
