This project will see primary school pupils rebuild a dismantled organ at the St Just Miner’s Chapel and put it into working order. They will learn about sound production, mechanical action and using tools.
The project will build community engagement in St Just in Penwith, as well as the development of a centre of excellence in West Cornwall for music and the provision of a living education resource for all.
A grand concert will take place featuring a world-renowned Parisian organist Hervé Desabre.
Five elite organists and pianists will perform together and individually to showcase the Chapel’s magnificent pipe organ in addition to the training organ that will have been rebuilt with the children making a thrilling and inspiring programme of virtuoso music.
