Passing the Parcel is an intergenerational, multi-disciplinary arts project between older people living with dementia and their carers and young children, pupils and students in Cornwall. The project consists of 40 creative literacy/performing arts workshops offering innovative techniques such as edible poetry, instant song writing, book-making in all shapes and sizes, along with the creation of poetic objects d’art. It will result in the creation of a huge Pass the Parcel that can be played by the whole community. The project aims to unfold the layers that divide generations in the community, gradually revealing & nurturing the heart of one shared community.
Passing the Parcel will result in the creation of a world-leading, creative training package for care homes, schools & memory cafes to roll out in their communities. This will be launched at a groundbreaking, inter-disciplinary creative conference at Falmouth University where partners from all over the world will be invited to learn about & share in the magic of intergenerational practice for people living with dementia.
