Sea Salts & Sail is a biennial event concentrating primarily on the maritime heritage of Cornwall. Traditional sailing vessels, such as Luggers, Pilot Cutters, Crabbers etc moor up alongside the ancient quay giving the spectators a glimpse of what their ancestors sailed on. On Saturday and Sunday these same boats will be “Sailing in Company” around the bay, providing a colourful spectacle for those on shore.
Splash is a sea inspired programme of education, community events and celebrations which will enhance the existing Sea Salts and Sail festival and provide activities for a new younger audience and their families .The aim of the festival is to promote our maritime heritage, revive old traditions and to welcome the traditional sailing vessels which present a spectacular sight when out sailing around the bay. The festival includes activities and entertainment which take place by the beach in Mousehole such as : Traditional Sailing Boats racing , live music and delicious food and drink , cookery demonstrations , demonstrations of local crafts like crab pot making , photographic display of Old Cornwall and lots of stalls selling gifts and interesting items.
