Creative Kernow, based at Krowji, is the umbrella organisation for the following nine projects. Together we support the production, promotion and distribution of work by creative practitioners in Cornwall because we believe in creativity's transformative power and want more people to benefit from it.

The Mother’s Bones

The idea for ‘The Mother’s Bones’ sprang from a collaboration between artist Abigail Reynolds and St Keverne Band in 2014. It returns them to their point of origin in Dean Quarry, a post-industrial Cornish landscape on the tip of the Lizard peninsula. Through a mythic sensibility the boundary between animate and inanimate is blurred, and the enigmatic landscape of the quarry becomes a character in the film exploring an extraordinary place and the Band’s relationship to it.
