Yaya Weave presents the research of artists Viviane Vaux and Maria Christoforidou into haptic, visual and expanded notions of weaving. Through archival images and objects the display places weaving at the intersection of science, technology, mythology and art. The central piece – a communal woven tapestry – is going to grow each week in workshops with local people from different diasporas.
The exhibition is at the Fish Factory in Penryn from 7 October – 1 November 2021. On Saturday 30 October, 5- 7 pm Viv and Maria are joined by music artist The Worm and Voices of the Undergrowth for a musical closing gesture. To find out more about the exhibition www.fishfactoryarts.space/whats-on
