If you’d prefer not to write your answers, you can record your responses instead!
You can send us an audio (e.g. voice note, MP3) or video (MP4, phone recording, etc.) file instead of filling out Section 2 of the form.
We want to hear your voice, this is about your project, your ideas, and your community.
What to Include in Your Recording
You need you to make sure you include the following points:
- Whereabouts in the Bodmin area (it will need to be in the catchment area for Bodmin College) will the project take place.
- Your elevator pitch – in a couple of sentances, tell us what your project is about, why it matters, and who will be involved.
- How are you going to link the project to Flamm. What will it bring to the festival or its build-up?
- How much funding are you asking for (remember the maximum is £5,000)
- Do you have planned dates / times for the project.
- Are you working with anyone else – groups, charities, organisations, schools or individuals?
- What difference do you hope this project will make for Bodmin and its people?
Tips for Making a Clear Recording
You don’t need fancy equipment, a smartphone or laptop is perfect!
Here are a few tips to help you sound and look your best:
Before You Start
- Take a deep breath and relax, this is just a conversation about your idea.
- You can jot down a few notes or bullet points to guide you.
- Find a quiet space with minimal background noise (turn off TV, fans, etc.).
- If you’re filming, make sure your face is well-lit and the camera is steady (prop it on a shelf or book stack if needed).
While Recording
- Speak slowly and clearly, imagine you’re explaining your idea to a friend.
- Pause between each point.
- If you make a mistake, just take a breath and start the sentence again — we don’t mind edits or pauses!
- Keep the whole recording around 5–8 minutes long.
After Recording
- Listen back once to check the sound is clear and your answers are complete.
- Save your file as: Yourname_ProjectTitle_Audio or Yourname_ProjectTitle_Video
- Upload or attach it where the form asks.
Remember
We’re not judging your technical skills, we just want to understand your idea and passion.
Speak naturally and honestly. Your story is what matters most.
