Creative Kernow, based at Krowji, is the umbrella organisation for the following nine projects. Together we support the production, promotion and distribution of work by creative practitioners in Cornwall because we believe in creativity's transformative power and want more people to benefit from it.

Arts Lab

Arts Lab is a creative health programme by and for young people in Cornwall, delivered by HeadStart Kernow, Creative Kernow and Arts Well.

The aim of this programme is to address the mental and emotional health needs of young people, giving them an outlet for self-expression, connection and fun. We use the Five Ways to Wellbeing as a framework for the creative projects. Arts Lab years 2 – 4 (2023 – 25) were mainly funded by The Cornwall Council Wellbeing and Public Health Service. Years 5 and 6 (2026 – 27) are funded by the Cornwall Council resettlement service.

Over the past five years, we have commissioned artists to work with young people’s groups all over Cornwall to co-create opportunities in response to what the young people said they want.
